I want to become more flexible. It is imperative that I am flexible in the classroom and I know that this is something I need to work on. For me there is no better way to practice being flexible than traveling!
I want to add new ways of teaching/learning to my toolbox. I have only ever gotten to experience the way that American schools teach. I want to be able to bring more learning opportunities to my future students. From Scotland I will bring new learning styles.
I want to build my confidence as a teacher. While I am in the U.S. student teaching I will constantly be comparing myself to the other student teachers. Being in Scotland will force me to stop doing that and look at the great experience that I am.
Personal Goals
I want to become more confident. The unknown frightens me, but by going abroad I am proving to myself that I can do this. I can travel on my own, I can teach, and I can succeed as long as I believe in myself.
